A Seventh Dead Or Alive Game Is In Development, While Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round Launches In June

Dead or Alive's last mainline entry dropped nearly seven years ago, so the long-running fighting series was due for a revival. Today's State of Play showcase confirmed exactly that, not only announcing Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, a remaster of the sixth entry on PS5, but also a brand new game.
The trailer description for the Dead or Alive 6 Last Round announcement refers to the project as "the definitive version of Dead or Alive 6." It not only brings the game to PlayStation 5, but it also adds DLC characters to the main roster and teases the addition of more playable fighters and costumes in future updates. Additionally, a free-to-play version of the game will be available at launch, though it's unclear how that would differ from the paid version. You'll be able to play wither version on June 25, when it hits shelves.
After series producer Yosuke Hayashi introduced the game, he threw in a teaser for another project: Dead or Alive is getting another entry. While we can probably assume it will be called Dead or Alive 7, it's currently just referred to as "Dead or Alive New Project," so it could have a different name. The brief teaser also calls attention to the fact that 2026 marks the Dead or Alive Series' 30th anniversary, so the pair of projects is a part of the studio's celebration of that milestone.
