NASA’s big announcement about an “exceptional object in our cosmic neighborhood” was interesting - I bet it was even exciting if you’re an astrophysicist or take a deep-rooted interest in black holes. But for me it was a bit of a letdown. I was hoping for something BIG. Not only that, but they aren’t even sure if it’s a black hole at all - putting the cart before the horse, don’t you think? After feeling a bit disappointed after watching the press conference live on NASA TV (only three people called in with questions…) I pondered over some possible announcements they could have made that would really be exciting.
